Cryptography

Cryptography generally refers to the encryption of information. There are symmetric cryptography methods with the same key for encrypting and decrypting and there are asymmetric cryptography methods with two different keys [1].

In the Blockchain technology, cryptography is used whenever data is transmitted. This is important because it allows the Blockchain to function without a central authority. By using an asymmetric cryptography method, the transmitted data can be authenticated and validated [2].
